Hotfix Adhesive is a NEW permanent, washable fusible that is light weight, and won't gum up your needle.  It is a GAME CHANGER for my patterns, because you don't have to sew around all the pieces when you're done!  Once your design is cut out, you can easily iron it onto your background fabric and it is permanent.

  • Permanent, even in the wash!  Can dry in dryer on low heat setting.
  • It doesn't have any fibers or webbing in it, so you can use it with your home cutter (Cricut or Scan-n-cut).
  • It is light weight, so the fabric still feels fairly soft and flexible when you're done.
  • It has a paper backing to make tracing the patterns easy,  or you can run it through an inkjet printer.
  • Applies with a household Iron.
  • Rolls are 12" wide.  Available in 4 Yard or 10 Yard lengths.
  • Bonds to fabric, wood, paper, canvas, and more.

Hotfix Adhesive™ Instructions

  1. Preheat iron to Cotton (high) Setting. Do not use steam.
  2. Iron your fabric (wrinkles will prevent the adhesive from sticking well).
  3. Place your fabric on the ironing board with the wrong side facing up. Then place the Hotfix Adhesive™ on your fabric with the glue side facing the fabric (if you’re not sure which is the glue side and which is the paper, peel back the corner just a little… the glue is clear and the paper is opaque).
  4. Press the iron straight down in the center for approximate for 2-3 seconds just to anchor the Hotfix to the fabric. Then iron the rest of your Hotfix (back and forth motion) until the entire area is well fused, including the edges. You do not need to use a pressing cloth.
  5. Let your fused Fabric & Hotfix Adhesive™ cool completely. Then you are ready to cut your applique pieces out of the fused fabric.

When you are ready to fuse your applique pieces to your background:

  1. Preheat iron to Cotton (high) Setting. Do not use steam.
  2. Make sure your project is on a very firm surface.
  3. Use a straight up and down motion to press the iron straight down on each piece for approximate 5-6 seconds. Lift and turn your iron, and press the same area for another 5-6 seconds. Repeat this until all the pieces are fused to your background fabric.
  4. Let your project cool for a few minutes, then turn the whole project over, and repeat step 3, this time on the back side.
  5. After you are done, let cool completely before quilting.
