Learn Mosaic Appliqué —
At Your Own Pace

Step-by-step video workshops you can watch anytime, from the comfort of your sewing room.

Whether you're brand new to Mosaic Appliqué or simply enjoy learning by watching, these on-demand workshops with Cindy Bader guide you through every step—from choosing fabrics to placing the very last mosaic piece.

What is a video workshop?

A video workshop is a series of short, easy-to-follow video lessons that you can watch whenever it's convenient for you. Once you purchase the class, you'll receive immediate access and can start sewing right away.

Unlike a live class, there's no schedule to keep and no deadlines to meet. Pause, rewind, and rewatch each lesson as often as you'd like while you work through your project.

Why take a video workshop?

Sometimes it's easier to see a technique than to read about it.

These workshops are designed to give you the confidence to complete your project successfully. I'll guide you through each step, sharing the little tips and tricks I've learned from designing and teaching Mosaic Appliqué over the years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to know how to sew to take this class?
A: Some of the projects are ironed onto a canvas frame, shirt, or canvas bag, so no sewing would be needed.  But if you want to make a quilt out of our finished project, then basic sewing skills are needed.  However, there is very little sewing involved, so if you can sew a basic straight stitch, you can do this!

Q: What supplies will I need?
A: After you register, you’ll receive a full supply list by email, along with a short video explaining everything you’ll need and how to choose fabrics. Kits and supplies are available on the website for easy ordering.

Q: Can I use a different brand of fusible adhesive?
A: Yes, any fusible adhesive will work, but Hotfix Adhesive is highly recommended because it’s permanent—even through washing—so you don’t need to sew around every piece.

Q: What skill level is this class for?
A: This class is beginner-friendly.  No prior fusible applique experience is needed.  If you want to make a quilt, you just need to know how to sew a straight stitch to finish your quilt top.

Q: Do I need a sewing machine?
A:
A sewing machine will be required to finish some of the projects, but only minimal sewing is needed. Any basic machine that sews a straight stitch will work.

Q: Do I need to know how to applique before taking this class?
A: Not at all! This class is a great introduction to fusible applique. Everything is taught step-by-step.

Q: How long will I have access to the class recordings?
A: You’ll have access to all class recordings for as long as I am teaching classes (hopefully many, many years)!

Q: Can I buy a kit or supplies from you?
A: Yes! The pattern, fabric kit, Hotfix Adhesive, pre-printed fusible patterns, and scissors are available for purchase on the website.

Q: Can I use fabric from my stash?
A: Definitely. You’ll receive a supply list and video to help you choose fabrics from your own collection if you'd rather not use a kit.

Q: Do I need a printer or any special tools?
A: If you purchase the PDF pattern, you will need to print the pattern off yourself (a basic black and white printer is just great). If you order the paper pattern, no printer is needed. Basic quilting tools are required, and optional recommended tools like Fiskars Easy Action scissors are available for purchase.
