ABOUT ME

HI, I'M CINDY!

Welcome to my shop! I'm SO excited to be sharing my patterns with you.  I live in SW Minnesota, which used to be all prairie land (hence the name, Patterns on the Prairie).

I've been a quilter for over 25 years, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE working with fabric. My passion is to help young quilters (and yes, that includes young at heart) to grow in their quilting journey.

Whether you are an experienced quilter, or have never even heard the terms ‘fusible web’ or ‘raw edge appliqué’, I’m here for you! I want to make quilting an enjoyable experience, and not a frustrating endeavor. I want to help you create beautiful, one-of-a-kind, quilts for yourself and your loved ones. So if you like my patterns and think “I wish I could make that”, let me tell you, you can! And I will help you, every step of the way.

With Patterns on the Prairie, my goal is to create well written patterns that are easy to follow, and let quilters of any experience level create modern, gorgeous, unique quilts.

I hope you find a pattern that draws you in and gets you excited about starting a new project!

Happy quilting!

Here is what my customers have said:

“I am not a big quilter but when I saw this, I thought I would give it a try. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to create this beautiful “quilt”! The steps were so simple ironing the pattern onto my fabric, cutting it out, and then ironing it all together to make the adorable sea turtle! I can’t wait to make the butterfly next!

 Lyn

I decided to do the turtle and make it as realistic as possible. We travel to Kauai occasionally and I love seeing the Honu, green sea turtle. So I found batiks to mimic the actual colors and made my turtle. It's so realistic and then I found a tropical sea background and fabrics for the reef and fish. It was so much fun to make, the directions were extremely well written, and the final result was wonderful. I love my turtle wall hanging and have now purchased the butterfly. collecting fabrics and backgrounds to make a monarch. Can’t wait to get started. These patterns are addicting!!

The Radiant Butterfly pattern is an easy-to-follow, fun pattern with clear instructions. There’s tons of oom for personalization, and it’s a pleasure to work on! It’s perfect for a little girl’s room. ❤️ I will go to Cindy for her other patterns.

The Graceful Giraffe pattern was easy to follow.
The pattern had each color/shade on a separate sheet.
Pieces were easy to trace, cut, and lay out according to
the diagram provided. Pieces were ironed on. I
created my border from the pieces provided in
the pattern. Good for young to older individuals and no
appliqué experience needed.

Jean

This was my very first time doing any kind of
applique. This was fun and very easy with good
instructions. My project came out great, and it only
took me just one afternoon to complete it.
