Why take a class?

Discover how fun, fast, and approachable applique can be! Whether you're brand new to the technique or just looking for a creative refresh, you are welcome in any of these classes. This experience will boost your confidence and spark your creativity.

  • Beginner-friendly and stress-free (no hand-stitching required!)

  • Quick results with a modern, eye-catching look

  • Learn to use fusible adhesive with ease

  • Fun, step-by-step instruction in a relaxed setting

  • A completed project to show off and be proud of!

What to Expect

  • We’ll work together in real time, so you can ask questions and enjoy some social quilting time.

  • Class sizes are kept small so participants get as near to an in-person class experience as possible with lots of time for one-on-one feedback and questions.

  • My goal is to have the classes feel like we are all in the room together.  I understand there may be times when your video can't be on, but much of the time will be on camera, so I can see how you're doing, and we can all interact.

Single day vs. Multi day classes

Multi Day Classes:

  • In multi-session classes, we will complete a project from start to finish over the course of several sessions. I’ll walk you through one step of the mosaic applique process during each live Zoom session.

  • After about an hour, I’ll sign off and you can finish that step at your own pace—no pressure, no rush!

  • If you can’t make it live, don’t worry! Each session will be recorded so you can watch at your convenience, and finish that week’s step before our next class.

Single Day Courses:

  • In single day classes, we will complete a project from start to finish.  If you find you aren't quite done by the end of the class, not a problem!  You'll have the tools needed to finish it on your own.  And each session will be recorded so you can watch it again at a later date if you'd like a refresher.  All recordings will be available for 6 months.

  • We will have a break for lunch and lots of open work time, so you can step away for a break and come back as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to know how to sew to take this class?
A: Nope. This class is beginner-friendly and includes a no-sew option. You can complete your project by ironing your fused design onto a pre-purchased canvas—no sewing required if you go that route.

Q: What supplies will I need?
A: After you register, you’ll receive a full supply list by email, along with a short video explaining everything you’ll need and how to choose fabrics. Kits and supplies are available on the website for easy ordering.

Q: Can I use a different brand of fusible adhesive?
A: Yes, any fusible adhesive will work, but Hotfix Adhesive is highly recommended because it’s permanent—even through washing—so you don’t need to sew around every piece.

Q: What skill level is this class for?
A: This class is beginner-friendly.  No prior fusible applique experience is needed.  If you want to make a quilt, you just need to know how to sew a straight stitch to finish your quilt top.  This class does not talk about finishing options though (quilting and binding).

Q: Do I need a sewing machine?
A:
A sewing machine will be required to finish the quilt version of the project, but only minimal sewing is needed. Any basic machine that sews a straight stitch will work.

Q: Do I need to know how to applique before taking this class?
A: Not at all! This class is a great introduction to fusible applique. Everything is taught step-by-step.

Q: How long will I have access to the class recordings?
A: You’ll have access to all class recordings for one full year.

Q: Can I buy a kit or supplies from you?
A: Yes! The pattern, fabric kit, Hotfix Adhesive, pre-printed fusible patterns, and scissors are available for purchase on the website.

Q: Can I use fabric from my stash?
A: Definitely. You’ll receive a supply list and video to help you choose fabrics from your own collection if you'd rather not use a kit.

Q: Do I need a printer or any special tools?
A: If you purchase the PDF pattern, you’ll need access to a printer. If you order the paper pattern, no printer is needed. Basic quilting tools are required, and optional recommended tools like Fiskars Easy Action scissors are available for purchase.
