ABOUT ME
Hello! I’m Cindy Bader, owner of Patterns on the Prairie. I’m a passionate quilter, national educator, guild speaker, and quilt pattern designer with over 30 years of experience in the quilting world. I love helping quilters of all ages and skill levels grow in their quilting journey - always with kindness, encouragement, and a genuine desire to see them succeed.
My permanent home is in Marshall, Minnesota (Southwest corner of the state), but we travel during the winter to warmer states. My specialty is Mosaic Applique, which is fusible applique with a little ‘gap’ between each piece, giving the quilts a modern, unique, mosaic look. I would LOVE to come visit your guild, and talk about Mosaic Applique!
IN PERSON SPEAKING
I offer a 1 hour talk that is composed of a trunk show of over 20 quilts, and a talk designed to give members a behind-the-scenes look at the process of designing Mosaic Applique quilt patterns.

From Concept to Creation - Designing an Applique Pattern: This 1 hour trunk show and talk (with Powerpoint) shows my finished quilts, and explains in detail my creative process, from initial concept to final pattern creation.

Marketing: Photos, bio and speaking description will be provided to the guild.

In-Person vs. Virtual: This talk is only available in person at this time, and is not offered virtually.

Cost: $150 plus travel expenses. Vending at meetings is also part of my compensation.
MOSAIC APPLIQUE CLASSES
I offer beginner-friendly fusible applique classes featuring my own 'mosaic applique' quilt patterns. Whether your guild members are brand new to applique, or seasoned quilters looking for a fresh new technique, my classes are designed to be fun, inspiring, and approachable for all skill levels. It works best to schedule a speaking engagement prior to the class, so members can see the quilts in person.
Classes - No sewing machines are needed for class. We work on the applique during class, and they add borders at home. Students may choose to work on different patterns, as long as they are in the same 'category'

1 hour class: this would include any of my t-shirt/sweatshirt patterns.

Cost: $20 per student* (min class size of 6; no max size). Pattern and pre-printed Hotfix Adhesive included in cost. Fabric kits available.

3 hour class: this would include any of my mid-sized patterns: 'Bee Kind' bag, Sonoran Desert, Pueblo Pottery, etc...

Cost: $35 per student* (min class size of 6; max size of 30). Pattern and pre-printed Hotfix Adhesive included in cost. Fabric kits available.

6 hour class: this would include any of my large 48" x 48" patterns.

Cost: $45 per student* (min class size of 6; max size of 20). Pattern included in cost. Pre-printed Hotfix extra. Fabric kits available.
